Porto Metre Gauge Railway

Portugal 1974

The Porto metre gauge network was based on Porto Trindade station with the main line going via Avenida Da Franca where the metre gauge shed (Boa Vista) was located and on to Senhora da Hora where the line split and ran to Matasinhos to the west, Povoa de Varzim to the north and to Trofa and Lousado to the north east. From Povoa de Varzim there was a branch line to Famalicao where it joined the main Broad Gauge line and ran as a dual gauge line as far as Trofa. South of Famalicao on the dual gauge line was Lousado where the Metre Gauge line continued to Guimaraes and Fafe.
