Sherwood Forest Railway (SFR)
The Sherwood Forest Railway is a 15 inch gauge light railway near Mansfield in north Nottinghamshire and is owned by The Colley family and operated entirely by volunteers. The railway runs for approx half a mile along the 'flood dykes' of the early nineteenth-century irrigation system built by the Duke of Portland and is still operated by its original two steam locomotives, 'Smokey Joe' and 'Pet' from 1991. |
